The Dorian Wind Quintet… always successfully mixed serious artistic intent with an informal, highly personal and engaging attitude toward audiences

The Buffalo News

Dorian Outreach

The Dorian Quintet has always believed in bringing chamber music of the highest quality to non-traditional venues for the purpose of the public good, hoping to spread joy and inspiration through the power of music.

We regularly play for audiences who are prevented from attending regular concert venues due to medical, financial or mobility issues: residents of assisted living facilities, rehabilitation facilities, community centers, and retirement communities. We have ongoing collaborations with Memorial Sloan Kettering, Odyssey House and the Lighthouse Guild, and welcome inquiries from new potential outreach partners.

Music selections are culled from our season programs and include a great variety of styles – and concerts include spoken introductions and commentary for an immersive experience.

This program is supported, in part, by public funds from the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs in partnership with the City Council.

We would like to thank the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs for helping to support our mission of bringing more of our music to our NYC community, and we also thank our individual supporters and donors for providing the much-needed resources to subsidize our outreach programs.
